They are protesting against a bill in France that seeks to ban police from taking photographs. Protesters argue that the proposed law violates freedom of the press and expression. During the protests, demonstrators rallied in more than 100 areas across France.

French Interior Minister Gerald Dermanin said more than 20 protesters had been detained during the protests. The bill was introduced by the French government after a photo of a black musician being beaten by police in France became public last year. Agency
