THE PROCESS OF FINALIZING THE MASTER PLAN OF PASHUPATI AREA HAS STARTED.

December 6, 2020 : The Pashupati Area Development Fund has started finalizing the master plan with the suggestions of the concerned bodies including the locals.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has technically finalized the master plan to address the issues raised by the locals. A seven-member technical committee was formed under the coordination of Chandramani Adhikari. The first meeting of the committee was held and the work was started as per the work order. Pradip Dhakal informed.

He said that the master plan will be finalized after interacting with the concerned bodies and locals. Director General of the Department of Archaeology Damodar Gautam is the co-coordinator of the technical committee.

Similarly, senior architect Prof Dr Prem Nath Maskey, senior architect Prof Dr Sudarshan Raj Tiwari, senior archaeologist Bhim Prasad Nepal and cultural heritage conservationist KYJ are among the members. The member secretary of the committee is Dr. Dhakal, the member secretary of the fund, according to the ministry.
A technical committee has been formed on the basis of suggestions given by a three-member committee comprising two joint secretaries of the ministry and the director general of the department. A three-member committee also studied the master plan and recommended further improvements to the ministry. The technical committee has been given three months to finalize the master plan and submit a report.

The committee has also started discussions with the concerned bodies and locals after considering the archeological, historical, religious and cultural aspects of the Pashupati area. Earlier, the locals had formed a joint struggle committee and started agitation saying that an attempt was made to uplift the ancient settlement of Pashupati area in the name of master plan.
