
A strong earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale shook the Philippines on Friday morning, according to the US Geological Survey.
The quake shook buildings in the Philippine capital, Manila, and people gathered for Christmas to take to the streets. However, police said that no damage has been reported from the quake.

The US Geological Survey said the quake, which struck at 7.43am local time, had its epicenter at a depth of 114 km below the ground. The quake affected Bantagas province. The Philippines and surrounding countries are considered to be very seismically risky.
