The fire broke out after an oxygen ventilator exploded at Sanco University Hospital in the Turkish city of Gaziantep. But there were no signs of fire on the body of the deceased. He is thought to have died of a lack of oxygen when the ventilator exploded.

Eight people died on the spot and another died on the way to the hospital. The victims are in the age group of 56 to 85 years. The patients have been shifted to other hospitals immediately after the incident.

Expressing condolences over the incident, Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin tweeted that he was committed to treating other patients as soon as possible. About 2 million people in Turkey are infected from corona virus, more than 17,600 died. Agency
