December 2, 2020 : Eight persons arrested in connection with the murders of Assistant Inspector of Police Govinda Bika and police constable Ram Bahadur Saud in Dhangadhi of Kailali have been sent to jail.

According to the District Police Office, Kailali, eight persons arrested on murder charges have been remanded in custody for trial after a heated debate in the district court on Tuesday.

Assistant Inspector BK and police constable Saud, who were also in-charge of the temporary police post in Jugeda, went missing while on regular patrol on October 20.
The bodies of BK and Saud were found in the Mohan River flowing through the Nepal-India border on November 20.

Police had arrested 31-year-old Rohit Rana (A), Rohit Rana (B), 20-year-old Rajendra Rana and 30-year-old Suresh Rana alias Chor of the same place.

Rajkumar Rana alias Gabbar, 25, Ram Niwas Rana, 22, Dalram Rana, 29, Tallu and Ram Gopal Rana, 25, involved in the incident were also arrested.
According to Prateek Bista, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Kailali, all the arrested have been sent to jail for trial.

Traders released on Rs 1.5 lakh bail
The traders arrested on the charge of being involved in pea smuggling linked to the police murder in Dhangadhi have been released on bail.
Rajiv Gupta, a businessman from Dhangadhi, who was arrested on the charge of smuggling peas after a heated debate in the district court on Tuesday, has been released on Rs 150,000 bail, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bista.
