FIRE CONTROL AT HUMLA AIRPORT, ONE INJURED

December 3, 2020 : The fire at the staff building of Simkot Airport in Humla has been brought under control. The fire that broke out at 5 am on Thursday was brought under control after a two-hour effort by locals including the army, armed police and police.

Ganesh Suyal, an employee of the District Police Office, Humla has been injured in the fire. Her hand is injured and she is undergoing treatment. The condition is normal, police said. Chief of the District Police Office, Humla, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Suryaprakash Subedi said that the fire was brought under control with the help of more than 50 security personnel, forest personnel and some locals.

DSP Subedi said that it was very difficult to put out the fire due to the freezing of water due to cold. According to Subedi, the fire may have started after the heater was burnt in the office and the electric wire was shorted. “
It simply came to our notice then. The fire may have been caused by a short circuit in the electric wire due to the kick of the heater, ‘said Subedi.
