CONSTRUCTION OF CULVERTS STOPPED BY INDIAN SECURITY PERSONNEL

December 9, 2020 : Indian security personnel have obstructed the construction of a culvert in Prathampur village municipality-6 of West Nawalparasi.
The construction of the culvert has been stopped by the Indian paramilitary SSB office at Jhulnipur in Maharajgunj district of Uttar Pradesh. They have stopped work from Monday saying that construction is underway near Dashgaja during the expansion of postal road.

Deepak Thapa, a representative of the contractor company Kontech Pvt. A team of district security chiefs, including Chief District Officer Sagarmani Pathak, has conducted an on-site inspection after the Indian side obstructed the work.
“It can be said with certainty only after the team including the officials of the survey department has done the on-site survey,” said Prajia Pathak.

A 10 km road is being constructed north of Kathwa on the Indian border. Contract Pvt. Ltd., Kathmandu, which has won a contract worth Rs. 220 million, has started construction of 10 km road with seven culverts from the Indian border. The Indian side has said that construction work is underway in Dashgaja area and requested for rectification.
