CHIEF MINISTER RAI SUSPENDS 15 MP FOR BRINGING NO-CONFIDENCE MOTION AGAINST HIM – PROVINCE 1

December 31, 2020 : Chief Minister of State-1 Sherdhan Rai has suspended 15 lawmakers who filed a no-confidence motion against him.

Chief Whip Buddhi Kumar Raj Bhandari has informed that Chief Minister Rai has been suspended as the party leader so as not to be involved in parliamentary activities. Last Monday, 19 lawmakers who had filed a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai as party leader were asked for clarification on Rai’s instructions as party leader.

Chief Whip Buddhi Kumar Raj Bhandari said that 15 of those asked for clarification have been suspended from the parliament. The suspended MPS are Bhim Prasad Acharya, Rajendra Rai, Mohan Kumar Khadka, Lila Ballabha Adhikari, Lakshuman Tiwari, Kul Prasad Samba, Indra Bahadur Angbo, Vijay Kumar Bishwas, Yashoda Adhikari, Dhirendra Sharma, Jeevan Ghimire, Kusum Kumari Shrestha, Tank Angbuhang, Sabitra Kumari Regmi and Sarita Thapa.

Today, the Prachanda-Madhav faction of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has removed Chief Minister Rai from the leadership of the Oli faction’s state-1 parliamentary party. Bhim Acharya has been elected as the leader of the parliamentary party.
