January 11, 2021: The third Test between Australia and India ended in a draw. Australia was predicted to win the game, but the Indian batsman’s patient performance disappointed Australia.
Starting the second day at 98 for two, India scored 334 for five. Australia had challenged India for 407 runs to win.
No team was able to score more than 288 runs in the fourth innings at the Sydney Stadium. Australia have won the game against South Africa in 2006 by scoring the most runs in the fourth innings.
The visiting team India did not seem to be aspiring to win. In Indian batsman, Hanuma Bihari faced 161 balls and scored only 23 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin also played 118 balls and scored an important 39 runs. Both of them increased the score of the Indian team to 334.
For India, Rishabh Pant played an explosive 97 off 118 balls while Cheteshwar Pujara scored 77 runs. Cheteshwar also completed 6,000 runs in Test matches.
Australia made 338 in the first innings and 312 for six in the second innings to challenge India for 407 runs. India scored 244 in the first innings and 334 for five in the second innings. AFP
