AFGHAN ARMY KILLS 28 TALIBAN

December 7, 2020 : At least 28 Taliban insurgents have been killed in operations by Afghan security forces in the western provinces of Uruzgan and Kandahar.

In Uruzgan and Kandahar provinces, the Afghan army carried out air and ground operations. The Taliban fighters were killed during a security operation by Afghan security forces in the Obe district of Uruzgan.

A police checkpoint in Obe district was attacked by Taliban militants on Wednesday afternoon. Taliban militants were killed in a security operation after the attack.

The Afghan Defense Ministry said on Sunday that the militants had been killed on Sunday. It is said that the security forces also used warplanes during the operation. More than a dozen militants were reportedly injured during the operation.

The security forces suffered no casualties during the operation and the operation against the Taliban is ongoing in the area. In the past few days, the Taliban have been carrying out violent activities in Marof Jerai district of Kandahar province.

The operation was carried out by Afghan security forces on the basis of the information. Taliban militants active in the district have not commented on the operation. ANI
