Comb jellies are a newly discovered species. It belongs to the group of vertebrates. According to scientists, its body looks like a party balloon and has two tentacles that look like thread. This creature is found very deep underwater. Its body is small about 6 cm long.
When the organism moves from one place to another, it is stimulated and the small hair-like cilia on its body refract light into a brightly colored prism.
Researchers from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said the mysterious party blob first appeared in 2015 at a depth of 13,000 feet (4,000 meters) below sea level. But now, on November 18, 2020, it was published in the journal Plankton & Benthos Research.
