Children abducted by rebels in northern Nigeria on Friday have been released.
Boko Haram, a militant group in Nigeria, abducted the children from a school a year ago. A Katsina state spokesman said 344 children had been abducted.
It is said that some students are still under the control of the abductors. Despite abducting the children a year ago, the rebels released a video message on Thursday informing them of their condition.
Locals pressured the government after their children were abducted. They pressured the government to allow their children to return safely. However, government officials still do not have data on the number of students abducted or released.
The abducted children have been handed over to their parents after medical examination. Security concerns have risen in Nigeria following the abduction of a schoolboy. (Agency)
